You’re Expecting a Newborn Baby
Your baby is on the way and there’s a lot to do. Sometime in the middle of your third trimester, you’ll want to finalize your decision on your baby’s pediatrician. There are several important considerations…
YOUR BABY’S DOCTOR SHOULD BE HIGHLY EXPERIENCED IN PEDIATRIC MEDICINE
Children can’t be treated like little adults. As a mom, you want a doctor that is specially trained in medical care for infants. COPA doctors are board certified in pediatric medicine, meaning they’ve spent years treating only children and staying up to date on the latest research specific to kids. It’s common for the adults in your family to have one doctor and your child has a separate, pediatric-trained physician.
Pediatricians are 100% devoted to the unique needs of babies, children, tweens and teens. As a result, we’re the most recommended, most experienced providers for kids in the region.
COPA doctors have been caring for children in Central Oregon for more than 45 years. We have grandmothers and mothers who grew up with COPA, now putting their babies in our capable hands. Most of our newborns will continue with their same physician all the way through high school.
YOUR BABY’S CARE SHOULD INVOLVE A TEAM OF PEDIATRIC PROFESSIONALS
In addition to your pediatrician, COPA also includes physician assistants, nurse practitioners, pediatric nurses, lactation specialists and social service patient advocates, all working toward the same goal: your child’s health and well being. These professionals have spent their careers devoted to the care of children in an environment designed for families with kids. As a result of decades of hard work and commitment to all aspects of a child’s healthy milestones, COPA has achieved the State’s highest designation as a 5-Star medical home.
IT SHOULD BE EASY TO GET THE CARE YOUR BABY NEEDS
We have 4 convenient locations in Bend and Redmond, and we’re open 7 days a week with after-hours care. COPA patients also have access to a live 24/7 Telephone Nurse Advice Line, the only one in the region. You simply call the nurse with your concerns, she listens and offers medical advice, and tells you what to do. Whether it’s day or night, we’re available when you need us the most.
Breastfeeding is the best way to provide your child a foundation for a lifetime of good health. But it’s not always easy. When you need help, COPA offers a Certified Lactation Consultant who can visit with you and provide personalized assistance and instruction. Just call the main line to schedule your appointment.
COPA accepts all forms of insurance, including Oregon Health Plan. We are happy to help you sort through any insurance and payment situations, including cash if that’s your preference. Our billing team is trained to work with families who have children and all are welcome here.
