October 23, 2012
Central Oregon Pediatric Associates has recently added two new pediatricians to the practice, Logan Clausen, MD and Meghan Karnopp, MD and both doctors are accepting new patients.
Logan Clausen, MD is Board Certified in Pediatrics and will practice at all three COPA clinics in East Bend, West Bend and Redmond as well as St. Charles Hospital in Bend. Dr. Clausen received her undergraduate degree in Spanish Language and Literature from University of Colorado at Boulder. She attended medical school at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, and completed her residency at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. She is fluent in Spanish and embraces every opportunity she has to use it, especially with patients and their families.
Dr. Clausen relishes the constant variety in communicating with each child to uncover their individual emotional and physical well being. “I truly enjoy forming positive relationships with my patients and seeing the amazing process of development that is special to each child”, says Dr. Clausen, “I’m honored to join such a premier and experienced pediatric medical team and I’m especially eager to explore everything Bend has to offer”.
Wade Miller, CEO of COPA, sites Dr. Clausen’s top medical training and experience, her commitment to the health of children and her bilingual capabilities as the primary reasons she was invited to join the practice. “It’s a great addition to the healthcare community of Central Oregon to have someone of Dr. Clausen’s expertise join our team of health care specialists. Her work at university hospitals plus her commitment to COPA’s mission of providing expert care for all the children in our region really appealed to us.”
Dr. Clausen’s husband, Matt Clausen MD, is a St. Charles’ family practice physician. The Clausens and their dog, Kasha, plan to spend their free time in the Oregon outdoors, telemark skiing, biking, running, hiking, and camping.
Meghan Karnopp, MD is proud to be a former Mt. View High School Cougar. She received her BS Degree from the University of Utah, her medical degree from Oregon Health Sciences University and completed her pediatric residency at Stanford University. Dr. Karnopp is a Board Certified Pediatrician. She has relocated from Phoenix, Arizona where she practiced as a pediatrician at North Scottsdale Pediatric Associates. Prior to that, Dr. Karnopp had been in Northern California working as a partner at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation's Pediatric Urgent Care facility. She also worked as a clinical instructor of Neonatology at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital, and as a practitioner in both the Teen and Eating Disorder Clinics at the hospital. Dr. Karnopp is passionate about pediatrics and in addition has enriched her interest and training in Sport and Adolescent medicine.
“I am so excited to return to Central Oregon! So much has changed since I was a kid but it is still beautiful and a wonderful place for us to raise our daughter. I grew up ski racing with Mt. Bachelor Sports Education Foundation and can’t wait to get back on the mountain” says Dr. Karnopp. She also enjoys hiking, camping, biking and traveling with her husband, William Warne and 3 year old daughter, Harper. She looks forward to spending time with her family and friends and caring for the children of Central Oregon.
