Sports Physicals at COPA
A 'sports examination' is included with your teen's annual physical exam, covered entirely by most all insurance plans.
High school athletes are required to get clearance from their pediatrician or general physician prior to sports participation. You can print out the form (linked above) and bring it with you to your appointment.
A Thorough Exam
In addition to a sports physical, your COPA pediatrician will provide a thorough medical exam for your teen who is going through a big transition. We also address physical changes, discuss social pressures and talk about healthy living. And, we check for any medical concerns before something becomes a bigger problem. A quality well-exam, in conjunction with the 'sports-physical' process, is important to maintain the relationship between the doctor and teen patient and to assess your teen's overall health.
Covered at 100%
Most all insurance plans cover the cost of an annual exam at 100%, so you can take advantage of the need for a sports examination as well as a thorough medical evaluation at the same time.
Good for two years
This “sports clearance” exam from COPA is valid for two years in the area school athletic programs and it's required the freshman and junior years. Call today to schedule your child's well-exam and complete their pre-sport requirements.
Due to the comprehensive nature of the exam as well as the high demand during the summer months, please plan for more time and flexibility when scheduling and try to make your appointment up to two months in advance.
