Schedule of Well Child Care Visits
Well child exams for older children are scheduled up to two months in advance. It is best to plan ahead so you are able to see the pediatrician of your choice. The back-to-school season gets very busy, so we encourage you to plan your annual exams with immunizations in the early Spring.
For newborns and young toddlers, we will help you schedule your future appointments at each visit. Please contact COPA before your child is born to receive a private tour and plan for your first visit with your baby.
Well child visits will include physical measurements and a complete exam, discussions regarding the patient history, sensory screenings, behavioral assessments, and planned procedures (immunizations, developmental screenings, anticipatory guidance and other tests) at the following suggested intervals:
- 2 - 5 days (newborns)
- 10 - 14 days (2 weeks)
- 6 - 8 weeks
- 4 months
- 6 months
- 9 months
- 12 months
- 18 months
- 2 years
- 2 1/2 years
- 3 years
- Annually thereafter through their 18th birthday, for a health screening visit that includes a physical exam as well as a developmental, behavioral, and learning assessment.
It's important for parents to stay up-to-date with recommended immunizations and the latest information on communicable diseases, prevention and treatment.
If you have any questions please give us a call. We'll check your child's history and let you know when you need to come in for a visit.
