Healthy Beginnings has provided free early childhood health and development screenings for Deschutes County children aged from birth through five years. The program's goal is to provide accessible, educational, preventative screenings to ALL children. Young children are welcome whether or not they have insurance coverage and there are no income requirements.
Family Access Network (FAN) is committed to building a healthy community by alleviating the suffering of children in need. FAN's mission is to improve lives by ensuring all children in Deschutes County have access to basic-need services.
Kids Center is dedicated to the prevention, evaluation and treatment of child abuse.
The Center Foundation is a non-profit group providing no-cost athletic training, education and treatment to Central Oregon youth through several school and community-based programs. Key programs include impact sport concussion testing, the think first bicycle helmet program, pre-season sports physicals and sports medicine support at high school games.
Together for Children is a parent participation program for children from birth through age three. Their groups meet each week during the school year and are open to all families in Bend, Sisters and redmond. Trained educators facilitate each group (Primary 1-3 years or New Babies 3-11 months) offering interactive play, children's activity time, parent education and family networking.
Kids at Heart is a regional collaborative program of St. Charles Health System. By working together as a community, we are dedicated to fighting the childhood obesity trend and to ensuring all Central Oregon children have opportunities to be active, eat healthy and play.
